Google Analytics and cookies

What we use: Google Analytics 4 counts visits, shows which pages are used, and records successful form submissions and clicks to email or call, where those features are available.

What it collects: pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate city-level location and how you arrived at the site. We do not send names, email addresses or phone numbers to Google Analytics. Calculator inputs, search queries and URL parameters are not sent.

Cookies: Google Analytics sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_<ID>. Google Signals and advertising personalisation are disabled.

Your choice: use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to prevent Google Analytics collecting activity in supported browsers.

Email updates

When you sign up, we send your email address and selected signup topic to Bento to manage the updates you requested. Parent updates and employer benchmarks use separate topics. Calculator inputs and letter contents are not sent to Bento. You can unsubscribe using the link in any update. Bento may process subscriber data overseas; see its privacy policy.

If you save a childcare plan for reminders, the childcare milestone dates are stored with your email in Bento for that purpose. The plan URL contains the birth or due date and return date, so check it before sharing. Reminder emails will only start after the email schedule is connected.

Other visit counts

We also use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate visit and referral counts. Its measurement is cookie-free and does not use persistent visitor identifiers.
